Program Development
Designing and delivering an effective course is definitely a challenge. However, the questions that precede the design and delivery can shape the project and ensure its success. The program manager will develop a road map which will gives his/her team members direction. The manager will challenge team members to ask of themselves: Who else should be involved in developing the plan? Are there guidelines on what the plan should include? Who needs to approve the plan before the team can move forward? What timelines are involved? What resources will be required for plan development? As the discussion expands, the program development manager will establish some milestones for plotting key stages of the design process so that participants understand their crucial role in design and development work, and get a clear overview of the way team members will interact and rely on one another as a group.
In addition to the course development steps, the program manager will need to make sure critical elements such as scheduling, budgeting and marketing are factored in. Timing and financial pressures shape the staging of the final product just as creative teamwork seals success. |
