How to build an effective computer based learning module
Evaluations
Prior to offering the CBL design course, feedback will be gather from the Director of Education and the Manager of Curriculum and Development. The input will be extremely valuable, most specifically on issues of the course structure. The review will be an informal discussion and include the following questions>>
A short paper evaluation survey will be distributed after each course session (before each break). The facilitator will give the participants 5 to 8 minutes to complete the 5-questions survey. The goal of this evaluation is to help improve the program design. During the break, the facilitator will review the evaluations. When starting the next module, the facilitator will address briefly any misconceptions or confusions that the evaluations revealed. At the end of the course, the facilitator will compile the results and develop a summary to share with the course development team. Consistent challenging topics will be addressed and course materials adjusted. See the paper evaluation survey here>>
At the end of the course, 10 minutes will be reserved for participants to complete a paper evaluation survey. The goal of this evaluation is to gain input from participants on the overall course. Then, the facilitator will summarize the data, calculate a weighted average per quantitative questions using the Likert scale and determine themes for each qualitative questions. A short report will be produced and shared with the stakeholders. Based on the feedback, the course development team will meet to discuss and act on the potential issues.
